Community Free Meals

Second Tuesday of this month is  St Paul's Table of Plenty at St. Paul's Catholic Church of New Middletown from 5 p.m.to6:30 p.m.


Third Tuesday of this month join the people of Petersburg Presbyterian for Calvin's Table from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 


Fourth Tuesday of this month  is Luther's Table at Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Zion Lutheran is reaching out to the community by offering a meal at no  cost for people of the community. Our next meal is on Tuesday, January 23 at 5 p.m.   Our goal is to provide companionship, fellowship, nutrition (physical or spiritual) and strengthening the bonds within our community.

Community Christmas Baskets

Join in with the community at the High School Cafeteria on Friday, December 15 at 6 pm to help pack the Community Christmas Baskets. It takes many hands for this project to work. You can also help delivery the Christmas baskets on Saturday, December 16 starting at 9 am. You are asked to be at the High School between 8 to 830 am to be ready to deliver at 9 am.

Christmas Eve Worship

On Sunday, December 24 we will offer an interesting mix of worship experiences that will not only help prepare to celebrate Christmas but also actually celebrate Christmas.

In the morning of Sunday, December 24 we will offer one worship service at 10 amas the Fourth Sunday in Advent. Finally preparations for Christmas will occur after this worship.

In the evening of December 24 we will offer our traditional Christmas Eve services at 7 pm and 11 pm. Both services will include Holy Communion and a candle lighting ceremony. The difference will be at 7 will be more a readings and carols type worship and at 11 it will a traditional liturgy.

Decorating the Church for Christmas

We will start decorating for Christmas on Sunday, December 17 at 6 pm when we gather to put up and light our Christmas Tree in the worship room. Then we will return on Wednesday, December 20 at 6 pm to decorate the tree and the rest of the worship room.

Worship Around the Cross

Red Kettle Campaign

We will be ringing the Bell for the Red Kettle Campaign of the Salvation Army at the Dollar General in New Middletown on Saturday, December 23 from 10 am to 4 pm. There are plenty of one hour slots still open.

We at Zion will begin to offer for our twenty something and thirty something folks in the Fellowship Room on First Thursday of each month. The next Worship Around the Cross will be held on Thursday,

January 4 at 7 p.m. This will be a relaxed style of worship offered on the First Thursday of each month (to begin with), using power points, You-Tube songs, chants, and the sermon will be in a conversational style in a circle with our large  wooden cross making up our center. Holy Communion will be offered at each Worship Service.

LABYRINTH WALK

Our labyrinth walk will be up on Monday, Febrauary 12 from  7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Use this time to use this prayer practice to deepen your sense of God’s presence.

​​​Contemplative Prayer Group

Our Contemplative prayer group continues to meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Our next prayer time will be on Thursday, January 11 at 7 p.m. the base for our prayer will be common prayer Then we will meet on Thursday, January 25 when the base for prayer will be body prayer.
