End of the Sunday School Year Breakfast

We are making plans for our “End of the Sunday School Year Breakfast”to be held on June 3, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.  All Sunday School adults and youth and their parents and the entire congregation are being asked to attend.  Please mark this on your calendar.

Sunday, May 27, at 6:30 p.m.we will hold our third in our series ofCongregational Conversations. This time we will meet with Emmanuel Lutheran and St John Lutheran at St. John to begin the process of mutual planning for the three congregations. Pastor Larry is aware this is Memorial day weekend but please make every effort to be present and participate.

This is an invitation for all children and teens to join our congregations once a month for spiritual education, fun, and fellowship. We will meet at one of the three congregations each month. All are invited to each of the congregations each month, so please find time to stop by. Each time the “Seekers” will meet, it will be for one hour and include snack time. All youth and teens are welcome to this event. Below are the dates and times for the next three gatherings. For any questions, contact Pastor Erin Burns 330-542-3151.
Wednesday, June 13 (at St. John) 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 11 (at Zion) 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

We at Zion will begin to offer for our twenty something and thirty something folks in the Fellowship Room on First Thursday of each month. The next Worship Around the Cross will be held on Thursday,

June 7 at 7 p.m. This will be a relaxed style of worship offered on the First Thursday of each month (to begin with), using power points, You-Tube songs, chants, and the sermon will be in a conversational style in a circle with our large  wooden cross making up our center. Holy Communion will be offered at each Worship Service.

On Sunday, June 10, we will shift to our summer worship times of 8:00 am and 10:00 am. Worship is an important part of our spiritual lives and a key component to forming us into the mind of Christ. The commandment of: “Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.” Sabbath is more about having the space to seek God’s presence in our lives through word and sacrament than just resting.
